摘要

In this article, common experimental techniques and preparation conditionsadopted for the synthesis of M-type hexaferrites and their influence on themagnetic properties are briefly reviewed. The effects of various strategies ofcationic substitutions on the properties of the hexaferrites are addressed.Further, our synthesis and findings on Co-Ti substituted hexaferrites arepresented. It was found that Co-Ti substitution results in improving thesaturation magnetization, and reducing the coercivity down to values favorablefor high density magnetic recording. Also, evidence of inter-particleinteractions in the particulate samples was observed.
